My research aims to identify how we launch immune responses to control infections and disease at mucosal sites. My work focuses on how parasitic worms influence mucosal immunity. We apply our findings to other immunological settings including bacterial, viral, fungal infections as well as non-infectious diseases scenarios. This approach has resulted in my team identifying novel mediators of protective immunity both against these parasites and other infections and diseases. This work is carried out using both mouse models and human studies.
